On November 17, 2008, 100 selected representatives from across the state of Oregon convened for the 1st Annual Oregon Arts Education Congress.
After the Congress, a leadership group, led by Jean Boyer Cowling of Medford, the Vice Chair of the Oregon Arts Commission, met during the winter months of 2009 to identify leadership teams, create a work plan, identify potential key leaders and define the mission statement: sustainable improvement to Oregon’s K-12 systems so that the arts play a key role in the education of every child.
The delegates, leaders and leadership groups are now a network of advocates in support of our mission. With so much change on the horizon, opportunities for effective action are now developing. Become a member and learn how you can help!
Give us your basic contact information so we can continue to share news, event invitations and the growing list of opportunities. Or, become engaged in specific learning teams in the online forum to help build the network’s knowledge.
If you believe in Arts Education and your ability, passion and skills to make Oregon a better place, now is the time to act!
